Sri Sujit Bose is a resident of 51 Canal Street, (Sreebhumi) Kolkata 700048 within the Bidhannagar Assembly Constituency area. He was first elected as a councilor at a young age of just 22years. Ever since, last 26 years he has been in active politics and doing lot of social work and has been a public representative as a councilor for over two decades and as an MLA for last 16 months. He is associated with organizational work of the TMC for over a decade. Sri Sujit Bose is well known for his administrative, organizational, social capabilities. Besides being an MLA he is Vice Chairman of South Dum Dum Municipality; General Secretary of West Bengal Trinamool Congress; Vice President: Judo Federation of India, President: WB Judo Association; Executive Committee Member of Bengal Olympic Association; President: Sreebhumi Sporting Club; besides he is associated with various clubs and organisations all over the state. He enjoys good relations and support from various sports and cultural personalities.

The voters of Bidhannagar area had bestowed their blessings overwhelmingly on Sri Sujit Bose in the by-elections held on 7th November, 2009 for 139-East Belgachia Assembly Constituency. He was first elected as an MLA in November 2009. His constituency being East Belgachia.

The total polled votes being 148276. Sri Sujit Bose got 88642 votes and won the election by a massive margin of 35925.
