About Shri Sujit Bose

Sri Sujit Bose is a resident of 51 Canal Street, (Sreebhumi) Kolkata – 700048 within the Bidhannagar Assembly Constituency area. He was first elected as a councilor at a young age of just 22years. Ever since, last 26 years he has been in active politics and doing lot of social work and has been a public representative as a councilor for over two decades and as an MLA for last 16 months. He is associated with organizational work of the TMC for over a decade. Sri Sujit Bose is well known for his administrative, organizational, social capabilities. Besides being an MLA he is Vice Chairman of South Dum Dum Municipality; General Secretary of West Bengal Trinamool Congress.


Vice President: Judo Federation of India, President: WB Judo Association; Executive Committee Member of Bengal Olympic Association; President: Sreebhumi Sporting Club; besides he is associated with various clubs and organisations all over the state. He enjoys good relations and support from various sports and cultural personalities.

The voters of Bidhannagar area had bestowed their blessings overwhelmingly on Sri Sujit Bose in the by-elections held on 7th November, 2009 for 139-East Belgachia Assembly Constituency. He was first elected as an MLA in November 2009. His constituency being East Belgachia. The bye-election was held because of the sudden demise of Sri Subhas Chakraborty the sitting MLA and a Cabinet minister in the WB Government. Sri Sujit Bose defeated Smt. Ramola Chakraborty (wife of Late Subhas Chakraborty and CPI(M) nominated candidate) by a margin of 28360 votes. Since last 16 months after being elected as a MLA from the area Sri Sujit Bose has been working tirelessly in Mamata Banerjee’s parivartan yatra by carrying on the instructions of Ms. Mamata Banerjee as a true soldier of TMC. Sri Sujit Bose has put in a lot of effort as MLA and as Vice-Chairman of South Dum Dum Municipality. He recommended the distribution of Bidhayak Elaka Unayan Prakalpa Funds allotted and accumulated for the constituency on a war footing. Within 13 months of being elected as MLA he recommended distribution of Rs.15880000/- for proper lighting, development of parks, municipal sports complex, football grounds, hospitals, schools, community centres, for purchase of ambulances, hearse cars, and as per requirement and request of various registered social organizations, housing estates, etc.

Sri Sujit Bose was nominated as the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) & Indian National Congress alliance candidate to contest the recently held six phase elections to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from 116 Bidhannagar Assembly Constituency. Before delimitation the earstwhile 139 Belgachia East constituency had about 290000 voters. After delimitation, the present 116 Bidhannagar Assembly constituency has about 201000 voters. The elections in Bidhannagar area were held on 27th April 2011 and the results declared on 13th May 2011. The Bidhannagar AC consists of all 25 wards of Bidhannagar Municipal area and 10 wards (ward # 19, 20, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 & 35) of South Dum Dum Municipality.

The total polled votes being 148276. Sri Sujit Bose got 88642 votes and won the election by a massive margin of 35925.

As promised earlier Sujit Bose will try his level best to ensure that: The condition of Bidhannagar State General hospital and Patipukar TB Hospital will be improved. There is a requirement for proper and reasonable treatment of one and all especially the elderly persons residing in the area.
Utmost social security for the elderly residents will be ensured. Proper infrastructure will be developed to cater to problems of the elderly and to help in all possible situation of distress.
Bidhannagar Matri Sadan requires infrastructural development and by opening more such outlets in association with respective Municipalities, more and better service can be provided to the residents.
The problem of providing safe drinking water to all and the problem of water logging will be dealt with on a priority basis.
Steps will be taken for setting up of a Blood Bank and an institution like Peace Heaven in our constituency area.
Besides development of private educational institutions, Government educational institutions at Primary, Madyamik, Higher Secondary, College level will be developed and allowed to operate without any political interference.
Unbiased administration will be ensured.
Lack of transport facility in the area is a well known problem, will ensure all possible measures to solve the problem of the commuters.
Special all round developmental care needs to be taken for Duttabad, Cooliepara, Bidhanpally, Dhakindhari, Resettlement area, Nayapatti, Maheshbithan, Chayanabi, Dighipar, Kalipada Samanta Sarani, etc.

Our leader Ms. Mamata Banerjee took oath as Chief Minister of West Bengal on Friday, 20th May 2011. We sincerely solicit the blessings and good wishes of Ma-Mati-Manush for the Government led by Ms. Mamata Banerjee.


SUJIT BOSE WAS ALSO APPOINTED AS VICE CHAIRMAN OF NABADIGANTA INDUSTRIAL TOWNSHIP DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN AUGUST 2011.
